Linh Vi-The CEO of VAATV

Linh Vi is the chief executive officer and the founder of Vietnamese-American Arizona Television, LLC.  This online television program, VAATV.COM, launched in 2016 with the mission to promote and preserve the culture of the Vietnamese-American in Arizona.

Linh Vi came to America back in 1980. She initially lived in Boston, Massachusetts. She then moved to Orange County in California. During her senior year in high school, she single handedly produced a Vietnamese magazine for her Vietnamese club.  In addition, she promoted young talent writing through the local Vietnamese newspaper.  Also she provided community news to local TV channel 18.

After high school graduation, while pursuing a degree in Business Finance and Economics, she did internship at a Vietnamese radio station and quickly got promoted to become a news reporter for Van Nghe Truyen Thanh. Later she developed and hosted an innovative radio programming at local radio station 106.3FM known as Mai Am Tinh Tham.

 

In her TV show she explored the cultural difference between the elderly and the American-born Vietnamese. Also she examined the difference between the role of the traditional wife and the career-oriented woman.  Furthermore, she investigated the difference between the parental expectation and the youth freedom to choose.

Over the past ten years she has to step away from journalism because her family needs her. And now she returns to broadcasting because her passion has never left her.

Despite only have been in Mesa, Arizona only about one year she is determine to create a forum for all Vietnamese-Americans in Arizona to come together and share their expertise in areas of education, entertainment, social and health and family.
